3m Peltor Tactical Pro Electronic Ear Muffs feature a 26 NRR for excellent noise protection, a built-in microphone and sensor in each ear cup, connected to onboard electronics that amplify low level ambient sounds while compressing dangerously loud noises instantly, for true stereo sound that provides extraordinary situational awareness and the ability to hear better with Tactical Pro on than with the open ear.

This Product is OSHA CompliantTactical Pro is OSHA compliant with a built in volume limiter that prevents volume in excess of 82 dB from reaching the ear.

3m Peltor Tactical Pro Electronic Ear Muffs Features and Benefits:

  • Comfortable, fully adjustable padded headband with stainless steel spring arms that provide the rated noise protection with minimum temple pressure.
  • Generously sized ear cups with liquid/gel filled soft ear pads provide excellent NRR 26 noise protection and all day comfort.
  • Three styles to suit your specific situation: Folding headband, Neckband or Hard Hat models.
  • Full range push button volume adjustment you can operate with gloves on to let you set the amount of amplification you need. Can help those with mild to moderate hearing loss, or just give you "bionic" hearing when hunting.
  • Each ear cup has a microphone that together gives you 360 degree stereo directional hearing for maximum situational awareness and safety on the job as well as excellent ability to locate the direction of game calls and sounds while hunting.
  • Easy activate push button on/off, with auto off after 2 hours to save batteries.
  • Standard Peltor J22 audio input jack on one ear cup so you can plug in your smartphone or FMRS two way radio. Though not equipped with a boom mic, by simply speaking into your device and listening in the headset, you can communicate by cell phone or two way radio.
  • Powered by 2 AA batteries providing 270+ hours of use. Low battery warning sound lets you know you are about to need a new set.

The passive portion of the muffs have 29NRR. Good. The key is the amplifier and speakers inside the muffs let you hear normal conversations. You can even enhance the sould if you are a little hard of hearing. With independent amplifiers, the sound is directional stereo. The key for shooting that makes these different from most is that the amplifiers turn off in under 2/1000ths of a second when a loud sound is hear, protecting your ears. When the sound level returns to normal, the amps turn back on. This happens very quickly, letting me hear richocettes which happen less than 1/20th os a second after the shot

This is a good set of hearing protectors. I run an indoor and an outdoor firing range and I have 24 instructors who help me with this operation. We are constantly looking for a good set of electronic ear protectors for each of our instructors in the $200 to $300 range. For the money, we have determined this is the best set on the market right now. It is especially good downrange in our indoor range where the sound reverberates unusually loud. Since we have only been using this particular model for about 18 months, I cannot speak for its long term reliability. In the past we have had problems with the Peltor 7's we initially purchased. I am hoping the Pro Tac will continue to perform as they have up to this point. I recommend.

I have used these for 3 years with no problem. shooting indoor and out door ranges. Easy to adjust volume even with gloves on. Big advantage is I can hear the range master when some other shootes don't. Turn the volume up on a quiet evening and you can hear things you never knew were there. Great for hunting plus keeps your ears warm.

Too soon for me to judge battery life but performance is outstanding. Purchased for range use and trips into our forge shop. Very comfortable. Co-worker has 7-year old set that is beat up but still working great. Ordered from here on a Wednesday afternoon and had them in my hands by that Friday afternoon. Best Price that I could find as well. You won't be disapointed!

Purchasing through the website was very smooth. Delivery was prompt(earlier than expected). Batteries were included in the box. Ear cups make a good seal and are comfortable to wear for extended periods. The Mic's/speakers work as intended.
