Howard Leight by Honeywell Matrix Composite Foam Ear Plugs (NRR 27-29)TomMarch 18, 2013These earplugs are fantastic. I was a little skeptical that any disposable plugs would be good enough but now I am convinced. I first heard of these from my Aunt. After getting terrible tinnitus (ringing of the ears), she had to retire from the orchestra she had played with for over 20 years. Boy, she did her research, though. As a compliment to the special custom adjustable-level attenuators she had made for her, which must have cost her many thousands of dollars- THESE were the ones that she takes out with her for all occasions. She made me a believer. I have all three types, The Blue (23db reduction) are the softest, and still let a pleasant amount of sound filter through them. The Green (27 db reduction) are much sturdier, and knock out a lot more sound (I'll use these on the various salsa, rock, and funk bands I play with). The Orange are the really heavy duty ones (29db reduction) and are very helpful to have around when sound pressure levels are extreme. They are all comfortable to wear and are disposable and affordable to boot. A good choice that you'll be glad you made. They're cheap enough, too, that you'll want to show your friends.
