 Elvex Aware™ Electronic AM/FM Radio and Communications Ear Muffs are specifically
designed to permit face to face communications in high noise environments.
Aware™ Communications Ear Muffs feature two microphones that pick up sounds in
the environment. Low level sounds such as voices are amplified and dangerously
loud noise is suppressed. The resultant compressed soundscape contains all the
sounds present in the environment, but adjusted in volume so they can be safely
heard. This soundscape is then delivered to the ear at the volume chosen by the
user, up to maximum volume of 82 dB as permitted by the built-in limiter. The
resulting output from the Aware™ circuit means face to face communications are
simple, even in noisy industrial environments, and because the user can hear, he
has no reason to remove his hearing protector as is too often the case with
ordinary hearing protectors.
Aware™ goes further, providing the user with a quality built-in AM/FM radio and
a stereo input jack for listening to an iPod, two-way radio (listen only), or
other music source. Aware™ allows the user a choice of hearing just the music,
or the music together with the ambient sound processed into the headset. The
radio also can be heard along with the ambient sound so the user can be
entertained on the job, and still remain protected and situationally Aware™!
