With Splintek HearRight, the power to control volume and pressure is right at your fingertips.

Splintek HearRight Ear Plugs are completely unlike any other ear plugs you've ever seen. HearRight plugs feel smooth, squishy and very soft. That's because they are made of a patented GelFoam material that conforms to the shape of the ear canal even better than traditional foam can. HearRight provides NRR 27 protection from noise -- high noise-blocking for a pressure-regulating ear plug.

While the GelFoam material is unusual, it is the one-of-a-kind volume knobs that set HearRight apart from the rest. Splintek HearRight is the only non-electronic earplug with volume control knobs. One knob is located at the outer tip of each ear plug. These knobs open and close the pneumatic chamber. The result is an ear plug you can adjust as you go, slowly easing your ears into different air pressure conditions. The amount of sound you can hear changes as you turn the knobs. So does the pressure inside your ears.

This is particularly good for flying. Air passengers' ear drums will be subjected to an 8,000 feet barometric cabin pressure change over just 12 minutes during takeoff. That kind of change can cause serious discomfort and pain. HearRight lets you control the rate at which the pressure inside your ears changes, helping you skip the ear pain while flying.

HearRight ear plugs are washable and will stand up to more than 100 uses. Waterproof. Available in small/youth size only.

Warning: the "adult / large" size is large. not suitable for a smaller ear canal (5'4" female). This is exaserbated because they aren't rollable foam plugs. Both sets we bought came with an oil or some other residue from manufacturing. You must wash them before first using them and clean the case. With a small ear canal they stick out very far, larger ear canaly the can go pretty far in and not stick out much further than other earplugs. The volume adjustment feature is novel and useful. I've used these for a day, so I can't comment on their longevity or performance in loud environments.

These earplugs are affordable, reusable over and over, and perhaps the best I've used so far. They form a good seal and over time actually mold themselves to your ear - for this reason it's good to ensure you use the same plug for the same ear each time. They don't stick out much and are discreet. They help a great deal with regulating pressure change and preventing ear pain and with avoiding built-up pressure from flying that won't release itself. Since I have to hear while I'm on the plane, it's good to have the option to allow more sound. For those times I don't need to hear others on the plane, I can opt to block more sound. Follow the instructions for use and cleaning, and you'll be good to go.
