Product Reviews for 3M Single-Ended Combat Arms Military Ear Plugs - Generation 4 (NRR 7/23)3M Single-Ended Combat Arms Military Ear Plugs - Generation 4 (NRR 7/23)BillOctober 17, 2018I first bought 2 pair. I use 1 for the range, pistols to rifles, and one for yard work, chain saw, week eater, blower, and lawn mower. They work great for range noise reduction, plus I can hear range commands and conversations. Work just as well with reducing the gas engine noise for the gas powered equipment. In both cases, while reducing the desired noise, I can still hear well enough to remain aware of my surroundings. I was so impressed, I bought 2 more pair to have in reserve in case I lose a pair. Great quality! 3M Single-Ended Combat Arms Military Ear Plugs - Generation 4 (NRR 7/23)Dean HitchcockMay 27, 2017The noise canceled is not nearly as good as stated for the price paid. I feel that the foam inserts are a better deal by far and can be adjusted simply by pulling them out a small amount if need be. In my honest opinion the price is much too high. I will not be telling others in my group to get them. 3M Single-Ended Combat Arms Military Ear Plugs - Generation 4 (NRR 7/23)PhilNovember 1, 2016This model earplug is the best I've ever used and I've basically tried them all. I keep a pair in every gun case I own so I won't accidentally forget them. The only reason I ever repave them is sometimes the cord accidentally pulls out. If they could fix that problem or if it were possible to put the cord back in, they would be absolutely perfect. 3M Single-Ended Combat Arms Military Ear Plugs - Generation 4 (NRR 7/23)DukeOctober 26, 2016These works as described. I bought them to waterfowl hunt with but did not end up using them. So I took them to a qualification and shot prone next to another shooter also shooting an AR. The plug were used with the valve open and the noise reduction was adequate to prevent discomfort. Without these plugs the noise would have been very unpleasant. 3M Single-Ended Combat Arms Military Ear Plugs - Generation 4 (NRR 7/23)Jim in IdahoApril 15, 2016These are my new go-to ear plugs for when I go to shoot sporting clays. I can hear passably at conversational levels and they have excellent attenuation of sharp/load noises, blocking out the shotgun blasts extremely well. They stay in my ears much better than the Surefire Ep7s that I was using prior to finding these. The shipping from EarPlugSuperstore was very quick. I would not hesitate to order from heqr again. 3M Single-Ended Combat Arms Military Ear Plugs - Generation 4 (NRR 7/23)BillMarch 25, 2016Pro: They work well. Tips are replaceable. Con:The sizing is a bit odd, as others have said. For me, the medium is far to small, and the large far too large. Replacement tips fixed that. Con: I cannot adjust the flip thing while in place, but that's a minor issue for me. 3M Single-Ended Combat Arms Military Ear Plugs - Generation 4 (NRR 7/23)Mark M.August 25, 2015The toggle venting actually works. Very nice to have strong cords attached. I'm protected from heavy door slams and high pitched squeaks all day. Thank you. 3M Single-Ended Combat Arms Military Ear Plugs - Generation 4 (NRR 7/23)Mike O.June 22, 2015These plugs are great and work well. the only issue I have Is trying to flip them open and closed. 3M Single-Ended Combat Arms Military Ear Plugs - Generation 4 (NRR 7/23)AndrewMay 3, 2014Great item and works great. Sizes run large. I would recommend buying the size smaller than what you would normally wear. 3M Single-Ended Combat Arms Military Ear Plugs - Generation 4 (NRR 7/23)johnny rogersDecember 19, 2013I am sure glad I got small. They are tight and I did not think my ears were that small. 3M Single-Ended Combat Arms Military Ear Plugs - Generation 4 (NRR 7/23)BrianAugust 28, 2013I was issued my first pair for a year in Afghanistan but lost them on a helo landing zone (so much for dummy cords ....). I bought a pair for my reenactment hobby since they blend in for events and are not as obvious as the dayglo sponges most others use ... perfect for use on a gun crew or musketry ... You cannot beat the price. It only takes once to lose your hearing ... 3M Single-Ended Combat Arms Military Ear Plugs - Generation 4 (NRR 7/23)Jonathan B.July 18, 2013Bought a pair for my son and I to use shooting sporting clays with 12 gauge. Too darn hot in summertime to use my usual electronic earmuffs. Quite pleased with these as an alternative. 3M Single-Ended Combat Arms Military Ear Plugs - Generation 4 (NRR 7/23)John L.July 11, 2013I think these earplugs are just great! At the range we shoot at, it can be 22lr to 50 cal, and she can't stand the loud report of some of the larger caliber rifles, so she wears both. I felt they were fine, and worked well when talking to the range officer. Thanks 3M Single-Ended Combat Arms Military Ear Plugs - Generation 4 (NRR 7/23)HilmarOctober 31, 2012I got interested in the pure mechanical solutions to the noise attenuation problem while looking at the electronic muffs. I own the Howard Leight (sold here as Bilsom) Impact Sports and those are actually not too shabby. What I like about these are: 1) Price. Less than $25, nothing else needs to be said. 2) Size. They're plugs, not muffs. If you're ever in a range that's just too loud, just throw on those NRR 33 muffs you had. 3) Comfort. You can change the plugs/flanges, as the actual functionality is in the thing that plugs into it, but the standard things are pleasant to wear. They are size accurate. I usually wear medium sized ear buds and I took these in the "regular" size. Fits like a glove. 4) They actually work! The most important thing here. You can hear your buddy/instructor/RSO speak, although slightly softer due to the 7dB attenuation, but when you fire your gun, it keeps it into very bearable ranges. 5) No electronics. Nothing to fail, nothing to adjust, no batteries to change. I tried this at my friend's range, which is basically a shed he built out of aluminum panels or something. Every shot just rings. Shot 9mm and .45 and yes, you hear the shots, it's not a soft click, but it's very nicely pushed down in level. Very very smooth. Impressive technology and it just sits in your ear (unlike some other solutions that have a strap halfway around the head and are more prone to wiggling out of the ear). No electronics is also great. Occasionally you read about some of the electronic muffs just not cutting it in louder indoor ranges. I think this will stand up fine, looking at circumstances at which I tested them. 3M Single-Ended Combat Arms Military Ear Plugs - Generation 4 (NRR 7/23)TomOctober 22, 2012in stock, fast shipping, fits all day comfortable at the range with NRR 7 variable noise protection activated I could hear all range commands...even the range master stapling targets at 100 yds but the blast from my neighbors 300 mag was very tolerable would buy again in the event these ever wear out 3M Single-Ended Combat Arms Military Ear Plugs - Generation 4 (NRR 7/23)robert clarkeSeptember 6, 2012I have been shooting for 45 yrs and usually use expensive large ear muffs. These plugs work just a well as the muffs but are alot cooler on hot days. They still allow me to hear the range commands but completely block out the firearm discharges. 3M Single-Ended Combat Arms Military Ear Plugs - Generation 4 (NRR 7/23)ChadSeptember 2, 2012I'm in law enforcement and have used these twice now for qualifications on handgun and assault rifle (AR-15). These are perfect! can still hear the range master with them in but blast from the firearms are quiet! He commented to me that everyone was asking how he could be inside the actual shooting range without no earplugs,( they were referring to the earmuffs) he told them about the Earplugs he had received and that he could hear them talking but a gunshot blast would be muffled, well they were so impressed I am sure they will be ordering some from you guys, thanks for the offer. I will soon be ordering but the custom made ones, since my ear canal is super small. great Job!!!! | |
