New life for my molds
October 4, 2021
The original lanyard on my custom molded plugs broke. This kit was a life saver.
Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • A little loose if you use the original lanyard hole. Screw them in a fresh spot.

Worked perfectly.

This lanyard was exactly what I was looking for. I have a pair of rather expensive ear plugs that were not attached to one another. Several times I had difficulty finding one or both in my pocket, and once I even throw them in the trash barrel with spent shells. With this lanyard the ear plugs hang around my neck when they are not needed. Perfect and easy to install.
Cons
  • None

These ears plugs word and that is the story. Got one pair and made them up that weekend, went and shot out weekly trap shoot, and they worked perfectly. Got my gun club interested in them. I went a bought a second pair for back up.

April 16, 2011
Speaking from experience, ear plugs that aren't tethered together will soon turn into a solitary ear plug. The do-it-yourself plugs such as the Acu-Life Pro-Fit Custom Molded Earplugs need a little insurance, and the screw-in lanyard is perfect for the job. The plastic screw pieces easily embed themselves into your newly formed plug to give you peace of mind... BUT... There is one problem... While the lanyard cord and plastic screw pieces are terrific, the plastic tubes that secure the cord to make a loop, are not very reliable. One of them came loose on mine and the cord slipped off of the nub. I had a friend use a metal crimp to re-attach it, but it should not have been made so cheaply in the first place. Pretty serious flaw, so I'm docking two stars. Otherwise, it's a quality cord and the screw in plastic nubs are exactly what you are looking for to keep you ear plugs plural.
