We want you to have the most cost-effective solution to your noise problem, so before you spend the money for any in-ear white noise device, if you have not already done so, we strongly suggest that you first try ordinary foam ear plugs. How do I choose?
Now you can choose between the original TI-100, which we developed primarily for noise management during sleep and the new TI-100-LT, which doubles as a tinnitus masker as well as helping manage noise during sleep. There are just a few differences between the two models. First, the original TI-100 has a tiny trimmer to adjust the volume, which requires a tool (included), and the volume is adjustable from a low of about 70 to a high of 83 dB. Our customers have told us that 70 dB is too high a minimum volume level for use as a tinnitus masker, so we developed the TI-100-LT to address this issue. The TI-100-LT has a fingertip volume adjustment, so no tool is required, and the volume is adjustable from inaudible to a maximum of 83 dB so you can use as little or as much sound as you need, and then change the volume easily whenever you need to do so. The LT version offers just one comfortable masking sound and is, therefore, less expensive than the TI-100, which offers 4 different sound profiles. The multiple sound profiles can be of great benefit in helping you find the right masking sound during sleep in your unique situation.
In summary, we suggest you choose the TI-100 if you are using it exclusively for sleep as it provides the four different sound profiles which can be helpful in addressing your unique sleeping with noise challenge.
If you are using the device primarily, or even partly as a tinnitus masker, we suggest you choose the TI-100-LT, because it gives you greater control over the volume setting which is crucial to this application: you should only use the minimum volume necessary to manage your tinnitus.
Finally, if you need the devices for sleep and you are on a tight budget, go ahead and get the TI-100-LT. The sound it produces is a nice mid-range masking sound that will almost certainly work for you. I have terrible Hyperacusis that made everyday noises unbearable. I couldn't even stand the sound of my own voice, and normal conversation literally made my ears ache. I had tried a few different products before this one, but they didn't help treat the problem, just cut down on noise. Of course, overprotecting can actually make Hyperacusis worse, so I tried a few pairs of acoustic filters for a while. After doing some research and with the recommendation of my Audiologist, I bought a pair of these. The first couple of days weren't that great. I had to get used to these. But after the first week, I noticed I was able to tolerate normal speech, I was able to carry on a conversation without pain, and I can finally concentrate again. These are even comfortable enough to sleep in, despite NOT being custom moulded to my ears. Like some of the other reviewers have said, the volume control is a bit of an unwieldy axe at first. These literally look like CIC hearing aids when they're in your ears, so if that bothers you, you might want to take that into consideration before you buy. Other than that, if you're looking for a solid in- ear White Noise Generator with full volume control, these are probably the best option out there.

I have been an EarPlug Store customer for years, having purchased an earlier version of these white noise ear plugs. I had two pair of those over about a 12 year period. These new NewSound Lite ear plugs are far superior to my previous ones. They block or mask the sound more effectively. They are also comfortable for sleeping.

I bought these for relief for my Misophonia, and I can't even begin to tell you how much of a difference they've made in my life. I would recommend this product to anyone who thinks they could benefit from a little bit of white noise. On a low setting, I can still hold a conversation with just about anybody. On the highest setting, they will drown out any trigger noise. The volume control takes a little getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, you will have precise control over just how much noise you need in each ear. I can't imagine going back to what my life was like before this product.
