3M 8511 Pro Particulate Respirator Details
The 3M 8511 Pro is the same respirator as the 3M 8511, but comes in packaging intended for store front sales.
The 3M 8511 Pro N95 provides at least 95% filtration efficiency against non-oil based particulate. Suggested uses include sawing, sweeping, and other dusty applications. Also reduces inhalation exposures to some biological particles (including mold, Bacillus anthracis, and Mycobacterium tuberculosis) but cannot eliminate the risk of contracting disease, illness, or infection.
The 3M 8511 Pro features a cup design that is durable enough to stand up to heat and humidity, requiring less replacement, and allowing workers to use fewer masks. With 3M's Cool Flow™ valve, the 8511 Pro vents exhaled heat out, making it an excellent choice for environments that are hot and humid, or for workers who need to wear respirators for extended periods of time. Masks with the Cool Flow™ valve remained, on average, 7.5°F cooler than unvented masks. 3M's advanced electrostatically charged filter media also helps to improve breathability. The result is a respirator that is comfortable to wear and won't collapse even in tough conditions.
These respirators are spacious and comfortable, with soft inner media and braided headbands. The straps are connected via dual point attachments, making the standard 2-strap design stronger and keeping the 8511 Pro firmly in place. The adjustable M-noseclip allows workers to customize the fit, and prevents glasses from fogging.
The 3M 8511 Pro is recommended for transportation, oil and gas, mining, industrial maintenance, heavy infrastructure, general manufacturing, food safety, food processing, design and construction, and commercial buildings. Also suitable for grinding, sanding, and other dusty applications. Note: not for use with oil based particulate.

About Efficiency
Filter efficiency shows how much filter leakage can be accepted. Higher efficiency means less leakage.
95%, 99%, and 99.97% are the most common filter efficiency ratings.
Used in particulate environments free of oil aerosols. N-series filters cannot be used if oil particles are present.
